Rescues are Great

I read a lot of comments and post about horses that end up at auctions/ slaughter houses on Facebook. I normally just read them and move on, but a recent comment I just can’t forget. It amazes me how some people can be so naïve to believe all horses at auctions are there for a reason and deserve their fate! Yes, I will agree there are a few, like maybe 1 in 100, that are bad apples. But, that goes for all animals, humans too! I know some of you may be wondering, why should you save a kill pen horse? Most have the conception that these horse can only be pasture ornaments or charity cases that people rescue to feel good about themselves. Well, I want to let you all know there is more to them then that. These kill pen ponies/horses can offer so much more. Attached are 15 ponies and one TB that are either currently in my program or have completed my program and are now re-homed. All of these horses have been saved in the last 3 years from trailers going to Mexico/ auction houses. These ponies/horses are competing at levels as high as pony finals (that requires them to nationally qualify). Every single rescue pony I have has successfully been trained as kid safe ponies from ground to saddle. 80% of these ponies where not halter broke or tame until I got them. They where rejected. They had no other chance and one common fate, slaughter bound. Now look at them.
